Four Ways You Can Easily Improve The Energy Efficiency Of Your Home.

Many people struggle to heat their homes each winter, especially people on low incomes who sometimes have to choose between food and fuel. This is known as fuel poverty. Radiators and electric heaters can't always be used because of the high price of energy. Wood burning stoves are expensive to install. Have you ever wondered if there is a way of reducing heating bills whilst still keeping the winter chills at bay? Is it really possible to make your home as insulated as possible without breaking the bank? The good news is that there are, in fact, several cheap ways of insulating houses. Here are four quick and easy methods to get you started:

1. Wrap Up Your Windows

Most heat escapes from glass windows and doors. To reduce this heat loss by as much as 80 percent, all you need to do is to purchase some bubble wrap; the type that is commonly used to protect fragile objects in parcels. Bubble wrap is inexpensive and can be purchased cheaply at DIY stores or via online retailers. First you need to cut the bubble wrap to fit the inside of your window pane or glass door frame. Then fix it to the surface using a PVA glue spray. This method might not look particularly stylish, but it is easy, inexpensive and highly effective when the weather is bitterly cold. As it is transparent, the bubble wrap still lets the light in, although you will have to wait until the weather warms up to admire the view! It can easily be removed and the spray won't damage the glass - any residue can be easily wiped away. Read on to discover more easy and economical ways of insulating your home
