You Won’t Believe What You Can Do With Just A Lemon And Some Nails!

You may think lemons only serve one purpose. The yellow citrus fruit boasts a pleasurable yet sour flavour and is most often used in during food preparation. Add it to some fish and you can take it to another level. Add it to some water or a cocktail and you’ve got yourself the perfect drink. Better yet, add it to hot water with honey and you’ve got yourself a natural sore throat remedy. But outside of it’s typical usage, the unique properties of a lemon allow it to be used for more than you think. If you can remember your days of science class in school, you may have even performed an experiment with one. The acidity of a lemon, much like a the acid in a battery, can actually be used to power small electronic devices, such as an alarm clock.
If we learned anything from this, it’s that lemons pack a lot of punch. In fact, powering an alarm clock is just the beginning. What if you learned that a small lemon could go as far as creating fire? It may seem hard to believe, but it’s actually something that you can do pretty easily. All you’ll need are a few supplies.

Supplies You’ll Need

  • One Lemon
  • Six Copper Clips
  • Six Zinc Nails
  • A Piece of Steel Wool
Alternatively, if you don’t have the clips or nails available to you, you can substitute them with copper and zinc coins.

How To Do It

  • 1. Begin by taking the lemon between the palms of your hands and rolling it to soften it up. This helps bring out the lemon juice an makes it easier to insert the nails.
  • 2. Next, insert the copper clips in a row down one side of the length of the lemon, spacing them out by 1 cm.
